Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) issued a statement regarding the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) decision to suspend a grant that could total up to $160 million through UTEP to further develop aerospace initiatives in the El Paso region.

“I appreciate the leadership at UTEP for identifying the problem of the faculty falsifying grant submissions through an internal audit and immediately correcting the issue. Clearly, the integrity of the university and its leadership is beyond reproach. I look forward to the El Paso community’s continued partnership with UTEP on future government-funded projects. I am encouraged to hear of the national search for a new Vice President of the UTEP Aerospace Center,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales.
